Fun and Unique Dessert Tables...

You all know one of my favorite things to do is to search the Internet for fun and unique inspiration pics and save them for later :) One of my absolute favorite things to look at is dessert tables. The more unique the better!  I love to see what simple, but elegant, fun, and fantastically original things people come up with. My favorites are the pastel coloured mismatched ones. I love using odd pieces of furniture from around the home, especially if it's an outdoor wedding!

You know me.... traditional is pretty, but I love the whimsical ones the best! Here's a few of my favorites...

{An old piece of furniture in a fun colour can add a little something to your display}

{This old dresser makes an amazing tea and dessert station}

{Lemonade anyone?}

{The pastel cakes, and different tiered cake plates... sigh... smitten with this one}

{ Got an old truck that you love? Why not use it for this cute and quirky dessert table! }

{There's something to be said about a simple and elegant lace table cloth.... }

{Mismatched tea towels, old windows and table cloths make a beautiful backdrop
for this barn wedding theme}

{There's always room for peonies!}

{Candles, flowers, and a mismatched fabric banner really make this display}

Hope you all have a lovely evening :)
Love to all,

Mother's Day, good friends and cupcakes...

I hope you all enjoyed this mother's day weekend as much as I did! Mine was definitely busy, but tons of fun! I spent most of it visiting with family and friends, and in the kitchen making cupcakes :) My little friend Sydney turned 9 this last week and asked if I would make the cupcakes for her party. She was pretty excited when I told her she could pick any kind she wanted and even more excited when she found out we could put chocolate pudding in the middle of them ;) We decided they would be vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate pudding in the middle, oh and they had to be pink and red.

I was so happy to hear that everyone loved them! Good choice on the flavors Syd!

Here's a few pics of the finished product...

We usually combine  Mother's Day with my Mom's birthday as they're only a few days apart, so this year I had the family plus my two good friends Lisa and Lisha over for dinner. Such a good time! My stomach hurts from laughing so much! So glad they could all make it! Instead of cake this year my mom requested cupcakes... The recipe for these little beauties came from the ever so lovely and talented, Miss Martha Stewart. The pics below are mine from tonight.. not bad for my first attempt :) Click here to find the complete instructions directly from Martha herself! They turned out to be super cute, and actually pretty easy to make!

Wishing all you amazing Mamas out there a fantastic Mother's Day!

Vintage Picnic Wedding Inspiration...

Of all the possible wedding themes out there, Vintage Picnic is my absolute favorite! The warm sunshine, a big field, good friends and family, vintage table cloths, assorted jars filled with flowers, the smell of the BBQ, and a table full of homemade pies. Sounds like heaven to me!

Not only is this theme versitile, it's also extremely cost effective! Oh and what a stunning bridal or baby shower it would make as well!

A little inspiration for you...

{add a little color to your day}

{the attire} - I think this is my favorite bridesmaid look. My two favorite colors combined!

A good old fashioned tea party...

It's no secret that I love pretty things. It's also no secret that I love to use them whenever possible. I don't believe in saving things for special occasions. I think we should enjoy them everyday. I use my good china to eat my morning cereal, I wear my favorite perfume to do my laundry, and I add pretty little touches to things whenever I can.

Today we hosted a tea party to welcome the newest addition to my best friend's family. Emily is now 5 weeks old and ever so lovely. She's quite happy being held, (which suits me just fine), and I know we're going to be the bestest of friends. I can hardly wait until she's old enough to craft ;)

This event was the perfect excuse for me to pull out my favorite table cloth and all my vintage tea cups, saucers, and serving trays. The menu consisted of traditional tea time favorites with some sweet extras thrown in for good measure.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Cutest fairies ever!

Today Emily and I got to spend the afternoon with Maya and all her friends at her Fairy Party! We had so much fun making wings and wands and playing games with them. Holiday Fun

The holiday season is finally here! It seems like all year long I'm waiting for Christmas to come. I've even been known to secretly listen to Christmas carols in the car during the late summer months.... I know... kinda crazy, but I'm sure I'm not the only guilty one! ;) Everything about it makes me smile. The decorations and crafting, the feeling you get when you find that perfect gift for someone, the sense of community that seems to be all around us, and who could forget the family traditions! My Mom and Dad have really seemed to take to the "blinking and flashing" theme. Your eyes are guaranteed to twitch from all that flashes, the Griswold's are usually referenced several times during the season, and I'm sure the spectacular display would bring tears of joy to Clark Griswold's eyes. But you know, as much as we tease them and laugh, we all love it and couldn't imagine a Christmas without it.

This weekend, two of my little friends Louie and Tash (who also happen to be super bakers) came over and helped me with some of my holiday baking. Here's a photo of one of their creations.

Hope you all have a lovely evening. xoxo

There were prizes to be won...

Last weekend we had the pleasure of helping out with Teagan's Carnival themed birthday party! The kids had tons of fun playing all the games, having their faces painted, picking out their prizes and who could forget eating all that cotton candy!

Thanks so much to Terri and Teagan for having us! Hope you had a good time! xoxo

We were in the presence of royalty this afternoon...

Today Lisa and I got to spend a sunny afternoon with Sophie and all her friends. We made crowns, played games, decorated cupcakes, and even had to fish out a gummy worm from a plate of jello with no hands! We had so much fun, the time just flew by! To view more photos from this party, check out our slide show :)

Thanks to Sophie for having us, it was tons of fun!
Special thanks to Jen and Lisa! You ladies rock! xoxo

Manicures and pedicures for everyone...

Last night Jen and I had the pleasure of hosting a Spa Party for Meagan and all her friends. We had tons of fun making homemade bath products, playing games, and swapping dance moves with the girls. (Jen's pretty good) ;)

After the craziness was done, the girls were given the full spa treatment.

Thanks so much Meagan for having us, we had a great time! xoxo
