Things I love...

Spring is my most favorite time of the year. :) Everything is coming up new and all those winter sweaters and boots are getting put away until the fall. :)  I've been working on my patio garden, digging out the flip flops and spring dresses, and thinking about what I'd like to add to my ever expanding closet :)

Hello Lovelies!

It's Summertime and what's not to love! Sunshine, BBQ's, sun dresses, lounging on the patio... the list goes on and on! Just taking a moment to share a few of my favourites...

Cool Treats - Seriously who doesn't smile when they hear the Ice Cream Truck come down the street ;) I do have to say though that it would be nice if they rotated their tunes a little bit ;)

Interesting Outdoor Living Areas - One day I am going to have the nicest covered porch so I can sit outside all year long and just enjoy it. This one looks like heaven to me!

Big Sunglasses - Love me some BIG Sunglasses!

Road Trips - The Mr. and I were just discussing what kind of road trips we would add to our bucket list the other day. My top 2 - #1 Okanagan wine tour road trip with a visit to the Drive-In in Vernon. We used to go to the local Drive-In when I was a kid and we loved it! #2 is road trip to small town USA stopping at all the local thrift stores and finding hidden treasures :) I secretly want to be just like those picker guys ;)

Moving my office outside - Ah the joy of laptops! I love my laptop so much, I don't think I'll ever get another desktop again. I love being able to sit on the patio and work just as I would if I was in my office or at my kitchen table!

The Fair - Ummm the Tilt-a-whirl.... no need to say more :)

Tubing in the river - We're very fortunate where we live that we have all kinds of wonderful lakes and rivers. And if you haven't tubed the Cowichan River and been thrown out of your tube, lost your sunglasses and came out with a few war wounds, you haven't lived. ;)

Garage Sales - I'm fairly certain this is where most of my furnishings in my house have come from. I could hit the local garage sales every weekend if time and my skinny little wallet permitted!

Things I love... Iphoneography

Hello Folks :) 

I had the nicest day yesterday! For those of you who don't know, in addition to my little Blue Lily adventure, I actually work full time for a few companies during the week. Things can get pretty hectic for me, especially during wedding season, so I decided to take yesterday and make it nothing but a Blue Lily day! 

I'm so glad I did! It was the best day ever!  I started the day off at a gorgeous venue with some lovely ladies for a site visit and planning session.  We wandered the property discussing logistics etc.. and it seemed like every time we found a new little nook, or wandered across a field, it sparked a new idea! This wedding is full of details! I can't wait for the day to come so I can share it with all of you. I'm kinda excited ;)

I spent the rest of the afternoon popping into thrift stores for some things I needed, and working on the computer at home. I even managed to get in some time with the Mr. :)  I'd say it was a pretty darn good day!

Happy Easter Sunday! Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine on this lovely long weekend! Things have been a little hectic to say the least for me lately, so I was actually able to take a few days, to putter in the garden, visit with family, and even got away on a little mini road trip adventure with the Mr. yesterday. :) It was just what I needed! Now I'm back, recharged, and ready to tackle this mountain I call a "to do" list! ;)

My new favorite store...

A few weekends ago my good friend Emily (of Starling Memory Designs) and I took a few minutes to pop into Lazy Susan's. I'd never been before and Emily couldn't believe I didn't know about this little gem! As soon as I saw the window display I knew this store was made for me!

The store is located in the Fairfield Plaza in Victoria. Inside you'll find all kinds of little hidden treasures! I have a big spot in my heart for oil cloth and everything you could possible make out of it! Not only can you purchase it by the meter, but you could buy the whole darn bolt if you really wanted! They have all different kinds of items made from it from place mats, to adorable bowling style bags! They even have panniers for your bicycle, which is perfect for me, because I have a vintage bike and I've been looking for some! The best part though is that all of these products are locally made! They have crafty things, vintage finds, and locally made clothing too! I really could have purchased everything in the store!

Oh and for all you Kath Kidston fans out there, they sell TONS of her stuff and it's MUCH cheaper in their store than purchasing it online! So if you've been dreaming about that little sailboat themed bag but couldn't bring yourself to spend the gagillion dollars online, pop in to Lazy Susan's! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Things I love...

Oh my goodness! Things have been so wonderfully busy for me lately. I'm really enjoying it and have so much to share with all of you, I promise I will blog and fill you all in real soon :) For now these are just a few things that I've stumbled upon and are absolutely loving. A traditional wedding can be so beautiful, but I really do love the little creative touches.

We're currently booking for the Spring/Summer 2011 season so if you think you might want some help, let us know! Things have been so very busy for me lately, it's all a bit nuts really, but I'm loving every minute of it! I wouldn't change it for anything. My little Brownies have wrapped up for the year and wedding season is in full swing!
