Minshen and Lucas - An Afternoon Wedding

The 2016 wedding season officially kicked off last weekend. Things have been pretty busy around here to say the least, but I'm so thankful I'm getting some time to catch up on some blogging. This sweet garden wedding was definitely one of my favorites and I'm so excited to share it with all of you. Minshen and Lucas' afternoon wedding at the Villa Marco Polo in Victoria BC was such a beautiful day.

If you've ever been to the Villa, you know that it's a magical and charming place. It's Italian garden is nothing short of spectacular and is perfect for a larger ceremony or intimate wedding reception. I'm a firm believer that you don't have to go crazy on the decor. Don't get me wrong, the decor is my most favorite part of the planning process, but sometimes a few simple consistent touches are just what you need to make your day beautiful. This wedding was a perfect example of just that.

Greenery garlands with a light colored blooms lined the tables and some candles in crystal holders completed the look.Tina from Platinum Floral Designs was there to work her magic. I am so blessed to know this girl. :) Anemone, spray rose, hypericum berries, veronica, snowberries and eucalyptus were used to create a playful bouquet!

Monochrome petals lined the aisle.

All of the DIY touches you see were created by the Bride herself :) From the hand drawn signage to the table numbers with photos of the bride and groom at the age of the corresponding table number, and even the floral garland for their sweet photo booth.

Adding personal touches from home can be a cost effective and personal way to add some interest to your decor. A vintage vanity was used as our cake table and couldn't have been more sweet.  This amazing naked cake was made by Laura from Schur to Please Specialty Cakes. So delicious! Keeping the consistency of our decor, we used garlands and blush colored blooms on the vanity.

Jackson from Jackon's Ice Cream Float even arrived with his team at the end of the evening to supply the wedding with a few sweet treats. Seriously... how cute is this?

Ameris was there to capture all those incredible moments.

The day was filled with so much love, laughter, (even some karaoke later in the evening) good food, fantastic vendors and one of the kindest couples you ever did meet.

I'm truly thankful to be able to have a job that enables me to work with some wonderfully talented individuals and their teams. This day would not have been possible without the following companies..

Chevron love...

There's so many parts of this job that I absolutely love, but I do have to say searching for inspiration and creating the look and feel of the event has got to be up in the top 3 of all time!

I'm very grateful to be able to meet and work with so many amazing couples and vendors. I have a wedding coming up in August that I am super excited for! It's going to be an intimate wedding full of personality and lots of little touches!  A little new mixed with a little bit of old. :) My favourite! not to mention that the location is to die for!!

These are some of the photos that we've been loving and have inspired us to create what is sure to be one of my very favourites!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

A garden wedding - Allison and Mark

Today was one of the best days I've had so far on this adventure! Today I received the nicest, kindest, and most thoughtful email from Allison and Mark, a recent bride and groom and it truly made my day.

I came to meet Allison and Mark through another local wedding planner. She had to suddenly move cities, and needed someone to take over a few weddings that she had this summer. She sent me a note to see if I was interested and available. I'm so glad she did! Thanks so much Lindsay! xo

Allison and Mark live in Australia so all of our meetings took place over the phone as well as a whole lot of emails. :) Just a few minutes into our first phone chat I could tell how kind, down to earth and friendly they were. You can imagine how happy and grateful I was when they sent me a note to say that they wanted me to be their new planner :)

It wasn't long before the wedding was here, and our busy day began. It was a long day, but honestly everyone was so wonderful and I was having so much fun it just flew by!  Allison and Mark's family and friends are just as lovely as they are; so very welcoming and helpful.  The day was great! The venue and food were amazing! We had a few technical hiccups, but we just plugged right along through them. Special thanks to their friend Jason! He was my technical genuis/hero for the evening and I am ever so grateful!

I'm sharing with you some photos that are taken from Christine's blog. She's one of the talented photographers who took some of the shots you're about to see. She actually came all the way from Australia to be with the happy couple on their day! How amazing is that?! The 2nd photographer was a Seattle gentleman named Kip, and being the small world that it is, he actually ended up knowing the Groom as well!

This is the note that I received today in my inbox. These kind and thoughtful words really did make my day. The thoughfulness of the Bride and Groom really shine through. I'm so glad I was able to meet them, and be a part of their day.

"You did such a fantastic job! We were so lucky to have you as our wedding planner. During the planning, I always felt more at ease after chatting with you, and LOVED how organized you were - I knew we could count on you. On the day, you took care of everything, and we were so impressed by your calm demeanour and can-do attitude even though you were in the middle of putting out small fires, so to speak! We knew you were taking care of things, and you went above and beyond in your dedication to making sure our wedding and reception were all that we hoped they would be. We highly, highly recommend you!" ~ Allison and Mark

Thank you both so much for everything. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
Love to all,

Vintage Picnic Wedding Inspiration...

Of all the possible wedding themes out there, Vintage Picnic is my absolute favorite! The warm sunshine, a big field, good friends and family, vintage table cloths, assorted jars filled with flowers, the smell of the BBQ, and a table full of homemade pies. Sounds like heaven to me!

Not only is this theme versitile, it's also extremely cost effective! Oh and what a stunning bridal or baby shower it would make as well!

A little inspiration for you...

{the invitation...}

{simple and original ceremony seating}

{a simple alter}

{the decor}

{add a little color to your day}

{the attire} - I think this is my favorite bridesmaid look. My two favorite colors combined!

{some unique and sweet favors for your guests}

Hope you all have a lovely evening!
