I love that movie, and that quote is one of my very favourites too. Too often we take for granted the simple things in life. Sometimes it's nice to be reminded of what's important, and take a moment to appreciate all we have. :)

Blue Lily Advent Calendar - Dec 3 - Win a FREE Photo Session with Melissa Knowles Photography!

Good Morning Lovelies!

Today I'm happy to announce that we're having a GIVEAWAY!! One lucky Guy or Gal is going to win a Mini Session with Melissa Knowles Photography! 30 min of photo time, 5-7 fully edited prints, and a 5 x 7 of your choice!! Seriously... how sweet is that!

I've known Melissa for a number of years now and she is one of the kindest, most genuine, talented, hard working and thoughtful people I know. These traits along with her passion for photography, and her gift of making people feel at ease are what truly make her special. And just so you know.. we big puffy heart love her too! ;)

Melissa is located in the Fraser Valley, but not to worry Vancouver Island folks... the session is also good for the Greater Victoria Area!

A Blue Lily giveaway!! They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

As promised, I said once we reached 10,000 page views on my blog, I would have another giveaway! and since I think it's important that you never ever break a promise if you can at all help it.... here you go!

I'm super excited to present you all with this little contest! So many of you have asked me if this one was ever going to be a giveaway and I'm so friggin happy to announce that it finally is!!!

We are giving away 1 mini photo session with Melissa Knowles Photography!!  The mini-session is valued at $90 and includes 30 minutes of session time at a location either within the Fraser Valley or within 30 minutes of Langford for all us Island folks. The session will come with up to 10 fully edited, print ready images on a disk and a 5x7 print of your choice. The session is valid for up to 4 people with additional peeps at $10 each. :)

A very special partnership...

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you'll know that I'm a huge fan of Helping Hearts Photography.

Helping Hearts is a project created by my good friend Melissa & her friend and fellow photographer Michelle with the goal of being able to provide free photography sessions for families with children who are suffering a life-altering illness or disability.

Over the last couple of months they've acquired an entire team of over 100 photographers that now stretches all the way across Canada! This amazing team is dedicated to donating their time to Helping Hearts because they believe in sharing the gift of photography with as many families as possible. After their session, each family receives 20-30 fully edited, print ready images on disk and an 8x10 print of their choice.

I'm so pleased to be able to announce that Blue Lily will be working with them as an official event sponsor! We'll be donating our time wherever we can, to help organize and execute fundraisers and events for Helping Hearts across Canada.

This particular organization is something that I've loved from the beginning. Anyone who knows me, knows that children have a very large and special place in my heart, and anything that I can do to help spread some happiness to these families truly makes me smile. :)

Last week Helping Hearts launched a new promo video. The song was written by Helen Austin, a very talented lady from Comox BC. To take a peek at the video click here, and be sure to get the tissues ready! You can't help yourself from tearing up! It's so very beautiful, and this song is now one of my new favorites :)
