Super cute summer party invitations...

I just got my new Martha Stewart Magazine in the mail, and LOVED these Retro Popcicle Summer Party invitations! So here I am, just passing my good find onto you!

What you need:

  • The invitation clip art
  • Clear colored velum paper 8.5 x 11
  • Popcicle sticks
  • Spray adhesive
  • Glue stick
  • 2 different colors of pink glassine paper
  • Glassine envelopes
  • The mailing label clip art

What you need to do:

1)  On the velum paper print the invitation clip art. Take another blank sheet of the velum and spray the adhesive onto it. Adhere it to the back of the printed piece of velum. Find the invitation clip art here....

2)  Rip 2 strips of pale-pink glassine (to cover the top third of each pop shape), and 1 strip of dark-pink glassine roughly twice as wide; arrange them as shown. Secure the strips to vellum with spray adhesive

3)  Write out the party information, and cut out the popcicles.

4)  Sandwich the popcicle sticks between both sides of the invitation. Stick together with the glue stick.

5)  Print the mailing labels using the sprinkle clip art provided. Find the label clip art here...

So super cute! Your guests will LOVE them!

Big hugs,
Tam xo

Fun and Unique Dessert Tables...

You all know one of my favorite things to do is to search the Internet for fun and unique inspiration pics and save them for later :) One of my absolute favorite things to look at is dessert tables. The more unique the better!  I love to see what simple, but elegant, fun, and fantastically original things people come up with. My favorites are the pastel coloured mismatched ones. I love using odd pieces of furniture from around the home, especially if it's an outdoor wedding!

You know me.... traditional is pretty, but I love the whimsical ones the best! Here's a few of my favorites...

{An old piece of furniture in a fun colour can add a little something to your display}

{This old dresser makes an amazing tea and dessert station}

{Lemonade anyone?}

{The pastel cakes, and different tiered cake plates... sigh... smitten with this one}

{ Got an old truck that you love? Why not use it for this cute and quirky dessert table! }

{There's something to be said about a simple and elegant lace table cloth.... }

{Mismatched tea towels, old windows and table cloths make a beautiful backdrop
for this barn wedding theme}

{There's always room for peonies!}

{Candles, flowers, and a mismatched fabric banner really make this display}

Hope you all have a lovely evening :)
Love to all,

Race Car Cupcakes...

These are some pics of some cupcakes I made for Doc the Barber for their Canada Day celebration. Race car cupcakes were requested so that is exactly what they got!

Jenn aka "Doc" is the owner and talent behind Doc the Barber. They are an authentic barber shop located on Willow St in Chemainus, BC. I'm told the straight shaves are truly amazing and should be experienced by all! So next time you can't decide what to get one of the men in your life, go see Doc!

Check out her Facebook page here.

And...if you're not crafty, but love it anyways... you can purchase it here.

Have a good night everyone!

A garden wedding - Allison and Mark

Today was one of the best days I've had so far on this adventure! Today I received the nicest, kindest, and most thoughtful email from Allison and Mark, a recent bride and groom and it truly made my day.

I came to meet Allison and Mark through another local wedding planner. She had to suddenly move cities, and needed someone to take over a few weddings that she had this summer. She sent me a note to see if I was interested and available. I'm so glad she did! Thanks so much Lindsay! xo

Allison and Mark live in Australia so all of our meetings took place over the phone as well as a whole lot of emails. :) Just a few minutes into our first phone chat I could tell how kind, down to earth and friendly they were. You can imagine how happy and grateful I was when they sent me a note to say that they wanted me to be their new planner :)

It wasn't long before the wedding was here, and our busy day began. It was a long day, but honestly everyone was so wonderful and I was having so much fun it just flew by!  Allison and Mark's family and friends are just as lovely as they are; so very welcoming and helpful.  The day was great! The venue and food were amazing! We had a few technical hiccups, but we just plugged right along through them. Special thanks to their friend Jason! He was my technical genuis/hero for the evening and I am ever so grateful!

I'm sharing with you some photos that are taken from Christine's blog. She's one of the talented photographers who took some of the shots you're about to see. She actually came all the way from Australia to be with the happy couple on their day! How amazing is that?! The 2nd photographer was a Seattle gentleman named Kip, and being the small world that it is, he actually ended up knowing the Groom as well!

Please click here to see Christine's Blog and the remainder of the photos...

This is the note that I received today in my inbox. These kind and thoughtful words really did make my day. The thoughfulness of the Bride and Groom really shine through. I'm so glad I was able to meet them, and be a part of their day.

"You did such a fantastic job! We were so lucky to have you as our wedding planner. During the planning, I always felt more at ease after chatting with you, and LOVED how organized you were - I knew we could count on you. On the day, you took care of everything, and we were so impressed by your calm demeanour and can-do attitude even though you were in the middle of putting out small fires, so to speak! We knew you were taking care of things, and you went above and beyond in your dedication to making sure our wedding and reception were all that we hoped they would be. We highly, highly recommend you!" ~ Allison and Mark

Thank you both so much for everything. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
Love to all,
Tam xo
